Workbooks and reports
Spec Doctor reads your selected template, item workbook, and Activity Feed report in your browser. Analysis and selected repairs run locally. The app does not send file contents, filenames, SKUs, findings, or generated reports to the Spec Doctor server, Walmart, an AI service, or an analytics service.
Files are held in browser memory while you work. Closing or refreshing the page clears that working data. Downloaded reports and repair copies remain wherever you save them on your device.
Licenses and payment
If you activate a purchased license, the app sends the license key and a random project ID to its server. The server sends that key and project label to Lemon Squeezy to confirm the purchase and create or verify a license instance. Payment details are entered on Lemon Squeezy’s hosted checkout.
The app’s persistent license ledger contains a keyed digest of the license, provider license and instance IDs, random project IDs, and activation and expiry times. It does not retain the raw license key, your workbook, or customer email. Provider responses may include purchase and customer metadata; the app uses them to check entitlement without logging or retaining that personal data.
The ledger is retained while the license remains redeemable and as needed to enforce consumed credits and resolve activation issues. See Lemon Squeezy’s privacy notice for its handling of purchase data.
Browser storage and hosting
Browser local storage remembers your random project ID and signed project grant, so a valid seven-day project can be reopened. File contents and findings are not saved there. You can clear this storage in your browser settings; keep the project ID and purchase receipt if you need activation support.
The app includes no advertising trackers or third-party analytics. A hosting provider can still receive ordinary request information such as IP addresses and browser headers when you load the app or activate a license. Infrastructure logs are controlled by the operator; license request bodies should never be included in those logs.
Privacy requests
Use the contact listed below for privacy requests, including requests from free users. For a purchase, you may also use the store contact on your receipt. Include your order number and random project ID if relevant. Do not include your item workbook, report contents, or full license key in an unsolicited message.
Hosted license storage
When cloud licensing is enabled, Neon Postgres stores the license metadata described above. Workbooks and reports continue to be processed only in your browser. See Neon’s privacy notice for its handling of service data.
